    Hello All,

We are starting a new Datawarehouse Project,

Intigrating several   sql servers ,I'm looking for important sys views  ,dmv's  or any information which will help  to get the important information  about the sources  before the extraction  and the factors to consider based on the collected metrics for extraction .

    Many Thanks

    Kumar

Please give us an example of the information you would be hunting for, DMV's are widespread and they contain different metrics collected overtime. Some may deem important to you environment and some may not.

if you are looking for Source data distrebution that will help you in your Data cleansing then you do not need DMV's all you need is SSIS profiler task to profile the source data

but if you want to gather data abut the source SQL Server, idecies and machine then YES dmv's is your choice. you need to be more specific about what do you need from dmv's
