How do I set the fill color for cells that are exposed when PowerPivot pivot tables are collapsed ?

I set fill colors for all cells in a worksheet. On the worksheet is a PowerPivot pivot table.
I then expand the pivot table. All ok.
If I then collapse the rows in the pivot table, all the rows that were previously covered by the pivot table are now white.
How can I get it to look ok and go back to the color that I've set? (Or how do I set the default cell color for the worksheet?)
