What is the difference between merge replication setup over LAN and over VPN ?

Hi All,
Currently i am using merge replication over LAN ... i am using anonymous pull subscriptions and i am using RMO API to fire the merge agent, and i am using integrated security for merge agent credentials, so my question is what the changes i might need to take care of if i need to move to VPN ?

Wednesday, November 14, 2012 1:17 PMModerator Nothing. It should just work. As long as you are able to resolve the name of the publisher from the subscriber over the VPN it will work fine.

As Hilary Mentioned You dont have to do any change since the IP will remain same even over VPN so you can easily do it -
all you need to verify is the connectivity and ask your security team to open the ports you need.
