SQL Server replication and Statistics
-
Monday, November 12, 2012 6:07 PMOk, so as far as I understand it, only User defined Statistics are passed in replication, and Auto generated statistics are not?? I am asking because I was curious what this was then? I do not have user defined statistics on these objects.

The statistics are updated to make the bcp process occur faster. This occurs on the publisher database. Statistics are not replicated, but will be created on the subscriber for every index there, and may be created for user queries depending on the auto create statistics option on your subscriber database. User defined statistics are not replicated at all.looking for a book on SQL Server 2008 Administration? http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Server-2008-Management-Administration/dp/067233044X looking for a book on SQL Server 2008 Full-Text Search? http://www.amazon.com/Pro-Full-Text-Search-Server-2008/dp/1430215941

I thought user defined statistics were copied. Did I misunderstand your response to this post? Transactional Replication - Article Settings

Yes, you are correct - I am wrong here - my original post was correct. User defined statistics can be replicated. Auto generated are not, but will be created on the subscriber due to user activity.
The statistics you see being updated here are unrelated to user defined statistics. They are statistics to assist with the snapshot generation process.
