Answered matrix vs tablix

    Hi All,

    in context of SSRS 2008, can anyone please tell me what is the difference between tablix and matrix.

    As per my understanding use matrix if you need only rows to be dynamic(when columns are fixed), use tablix if both rows and columns to be dynamic.

    Hello Amit,

    Exactly list, matrix and tablix are all the same = on control, only the wizards act different.

    Hi Amit,

    Table : a normal container to create report
    Matrix : create report which has variable columns and rows (like Pivot table).
    Tablix: Mixture of Table and Matrix.
