Trusted Certificate - TDE
-
Tuesday, February 28, 2012 8:43 PMI am looking to implement TDE and would like to know if the certificate used to secure the database encryption key can be a trusted certificate? If so how would you go about generating and using it with TDE?

Hi MaryA2010,
Please refer to these Microsoft articles:
Understanding Transparent Data Encryption (TDE)
SQL Server Certificates and Asymmetric Keys
The first article contains using the certificate with TDE and the second article contains the introduction of SQL Server certificate and how to generate a certificate.
If anything unclear, please feel free to let me know.
Best Regards,
Iric
