    hi everyone,

    i have a problem with sql browser service 2008 it does not start atall am getting the below error in the event viewer ;

    The SQLBrowser service was unable to establish SQL instance and connectivity discovery.

    below is the error am getting while trying to start the service in Sql server configuration manager

    "The request failed or the service did not respond in a timely fashion.
    Consult the event log or other applicable error logs for details."

    kindly help me out on this am in a middle of a project and am stuck.

    Hi julmwash,

    Please check if the service account’s password has been changed in SSCM (SQL Server Configuration Manager). If the password has been changed, please correct it in SSCM. You can also try to start the service in services.msc, also pay attention to update the service account’s password.

    Another way to solve this issue is disable the VIA protocol in SSCM-- SQL Server network configuration.
