if its failed then you need to fix it before trying to run setup again.

    see-

    Hello,

Rules skipped by SQL Server setup are rules that don’t apply to your computer configuration. Please continue with the setup wizard.

If setup finds that important rules failed, then it won’t allow you to continue with the installation.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Sir!,

what if the instance name already in use and i cant proceed to the installation?.

i rather to use another instance name?. or there is a alternative instance name required other than this "MSSQLSERVER"

You have to install the SQL as a named instance in that case and you can name that instance as you wish. This instance name will be used when you connect to the instance (HOSTNAME\INSTANCENAME)

If the instance is active & usem for fresh as said satheesh you need to give named instance.
