    Hi,

Today I tried to install SQL Server 2012 developer to my workstation. The install appeared to be going well until I got some odd module errors. I stopped the install, rebooted my system and then tried again. Now the install wizard just quits every time I try an install or repair. It successfully passes "setup support rules" and I get as far as "Install Setup Files". But then the window just exits.

How do I resolve this issue?

    Thanks is advance,

    Gary

    Hi,

Base on your description, could you please try to remove the SQL Server Setup Support Files from the Control Panel, and then rerun the setup again to check if it could help?

Also you can check this blog: SQL 2008/2008 R2/2012 setup disappears/fails when installing Setup Support files. It describes a scenario which is similar as yours, and also provides a solution.

If these don’t help, please provide the SQL Server setup log files as Ahmed mentioned for further troubleshooting.

    You'd the Rayman,

I had to make a repair, then uninstall, then re-install but all is well again in my world.

    Thanks,

    Gary
