SQL Server Browser service group does not exists. while installing SQL Express 2008 on 64 bit machine

  Are you installing on a Domain Controller?

  Are you able to start SQL Server Browser using SQL Server Configuration Manager?  Is it enable?

  It is a Member Server (Windows 2008 R2 Standard SP1 64 bit ).

  Actually not able to open configuration Manager, it gives below error:

  

  But in services "SQL Server Browser" Service is running. after failed installation it gets stop.

  Hi Monu,

  It may be cause by earlier failures in the setup.
  Please refer this blog: SQL Express is not installed properly. Steps to be taken before reinstall again.
  
  It is not work, please post the error messages when you installed SQL Server 2008 Express.
  Reference: How to view and read SQL Server Setup Log Files.
