    Hello,

Please run the Discovery Report to make sure SQL Server was installed successfully.

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/petersad/archive/2009/11/13/sql-server-2008-discovery-report.aspx

Could you share the summary.txt log file? The following article may help you locate the file on disk:

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143702(v=sql.100).aspx

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello,

SQL Server Database Engine is not installed. You have installed only the tools to manage SQL Server.

Please download SQL Server 2008 Express Edition with Service Pack 3 from the following link:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=27597

When you finish installation, please enable TCP/IP and Named Pipes protocols. Enable SQL Server Browser service also.

    Hello,

No don’t uninstall what you already have. The computer have installed the tools needed to manage SQL Server 2008 don’t uninstall them.

Just perform the installation of the file I mentioned, and it will complement what your computer has installed.
