2008 R2 Developer installation failure

I have had the folowing failures on a SQL Server 2008 R2 Developer install on Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit:
- Your SQL Server 2008 R2 completed with failures.
- Error writing to file msvcp80.dll. Verify that you have access to that directory.
- The cabinet file Sql.cab required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a ntework error, an error reading rom the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.
- Wait on the Database Engine recovery handle failed. Check the SQL Server error log for potential causes.
I ran the pe-installation checker beforehand with no errors reported and tried to repair without any success. Here is the error log. Any ideas?:

Probably media corruption issue, can you try copying setup files locally then launch setup with administrative privileges ?

Hello,
It seems that the installation file is corrupted or damaged. I would like to recommend that you download the installation file again and rerun the setup program.
For more information, please refer to the following KB article:

Thanks. Copying the DVD to an external drive and running it (without administrative privileges) resolved the problem. I had to completely uninstall SQL Server first.
The only msg I got was that setup directed a DACL on 'MicrosoftSQLServer\90\Shared\'. I think this was something to do with the UAC settings which I had changed?
In order to deploy reports to http://localhost/ReportServer I need to run IE9 and BIDS as Administrator. I don't know if this is normal.
