We have been having nothing but problems trying to get System Center Essentials reinstalled on a server. We have slowly made our way forward and finally got it reinstalled and working except for the Virtual Machine Manager component. (Stupidly) We ran the installer again and asked it to add this component to the installation. It failed with the errors below and now the entire SCE console won't even start. We have spent over a week trying to get this reinstalled and are not willing to reformat the entire server just to get the product fixed.
This is the error from the installation script:

Looking in the SQL DB I can see the other management packs listed in SECURITYESSENTAILS.dbo.ManagementPack table.
There is no option to uninstall the component in Add/Remove Programs, or when I run the installer. How can we manually uninstall Virtual Machine Manager so that we can get this installer to complete correctly?

Hello,
In this scenario, I would suggest a total uninstallation of the SCE server, and then you can install it from the begining. It's much more easier than reparing the corrupted server.
For your further information, here are some articles provide step-by-step instructions for uninstalling System Center Essentials 2010.
Task Reference Uninstall Essentials server
Uninstall Essentials console
Uninstall Essentials Reporting Server
How to Uninstall Essentials Reporting Server From a Remote Database Server
Uninstall Essentials Agents
Use a command line to uninstall Essentials
