Will deleted computers accounts be rediscoved

I inherited an Active Directory where the admin just reformatted the computers, gave it a new computer name and then added it back to AD. Sometime old computers were just taken offline and cannot be accessed on the network. These old computers were never removed from AD, but that cleanup is a separate project.
Meanwhile since these old computers have at one time connected to SCE there is a record for the old computer in SEC Managed Clients.
Of course both the new and the old computer have the same Serial number so that helps some
Can I just delete both the "old" and the "new" computer accounts in Administration and let SCE rediscover the "real" account?
Thanks - Tom Gilbert - TGilbert2000

Hi,
Generally, it is recommended that you remove the agent before formatting the computer. Please see if you can remove the old managed computers in SCE console.

If the entries could not be removed, please also see the following:

Hope this helps.
