    hello Everyone,

I am NEW to SCE and just installed SCE Console. I would like to update all my computer whatever needs to be installed specially those critical updates.

However, i found out when i checked my Computer Properties in SCE and check what are installed softwares seems to be off...looks like whatever i see on SCE is not the same as mine when i do check my installed software. is there any way to refresh SCE to see what is in real-time?

    thanks

    Hello Anthony,

Firstly, make sure the SCE management server was installed properly and without any issue. Secondly, make sure the computers that you have checked was managed by the SCE server(agents are deployed on managed computers). And then you can try the software inventory function on the SCE console.

The inventory software and hardware runs on a regular 22-hour cycle. During this cycle, the agents contact the Essentials management server to synchronize updates and to send the collected inventory.

    For more information, please see:

    Thanks for the reply.

First, when i try to open SCE Management Server the program keeps giving me a not responding status. Does it means the program is not installed program or probably corrupted? When i started to work here the SCE Management Server was already installed and and i am only installing on my computere the Console to manage Windows Updates/Software.

Is there any way that i could refresh the console to show only computers that are still on the network? I can see some computers that are not in the network but showing on SCE.

    thanks

    Hello Anthony,

You can go to the administration pane and delete the entry of the dead agents. For details, you can refer to the following article:

OpsMgr 2007 SP1 – Banish the Undead. How to remove “Not Monitored” dead agents.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/daviddixon/archive/2009/05/14/opsmgr-2007-sp1-banish-the-undead-how-to-remove-not-monitored-dead-agents.aspx

It was written for OpsMgr 2007 SP1, but also works for SCE 2010.

    Thanks Yog Li.

before i will continue i just want to make sure about this which i forgot to include on my last query. The case was not only Dead Agents "Not Monitored", there are also Computers/Agents on SCE that status "Healthy" but actually they are not in the Network anymore.

To simplify my question- is it Okay to Delete all Agent that are Not Monitored and Agents that shows Healthy but not in the network?

    again, thanks for helping.

    Hello Anthony,

You can safely delete both of them. The status of an agent which doesn't exist is Healthy and in Gray Color.

    Thanks Yog Li,

I already did that. My problem now is the new computer I added on the network was not discovered. i did manual discovery but it takes long but still doesn't update my Computers/Agents.

is there a way that I could start fresh?

    thanks
