    I have been assigned the task to rename all of our computers in our domain which brings me to my question, is there a way to just rename the computers that appear in the essentials console or do I have to delete everything and re add agents etc? I tried it with one computer, could not find a way to rename it then when I went to discover the new computer, it added it with the new name so now I have two entries that is the same computer. Is there just a way to rename a computer in the essentials console?

    Hello Josh,

    As far as I know, there is not a way to rename the managed computer in the Essentials console. You should delete the old agents and then re-push the agents to the computers with new names.

    Yog is correct.  Once the computer names are in the console, they can't be renamed.  Your best bet is to do a mass uninstall of the agents, then rediscover so they populate with the correct name.

    no problem, sounds like the task ahead of you isn't going to be very fun...I'd hate to have to rename all my clients on our network.  Good luck!
