Wednesday, March 10, 2010 7:05 AM1. I'm creating a template letter - there are no problems
2. In the working processes (incident) to create a script in which they indicate that the user who suffered should receive a letter (pointing out the pattern). ibid add a standard template. I get the following:
In the mail comes only a standard template with the text
***
Dear,
The following incident has been escalated:
Incident ID: IR46
Target Resolution Time:
Priority: 9
Affected User: bondarev-da
Category: Hardware Problems
This is an automated e-mail generated by System Center Service Manager.
***
But my template does not come. When I change the default template (! It's empty), then the text that I wrote is not where did not appear. comes the same thing.
Next I tried to make a notification when changing the line of support - The exact same situation. Notification not come, only the standard walk. What is the problem??

Have you seen the blogpost from Travis Wright about how to create notifications?

Give your email address. I could send screenshots -

Are you doing this under administratorion/workflows or under notification. You should do it with the incident workflow under workflows. There you can assign a template to a notification workflow.

My guess would be that you are seeing an issue with different locales. My example guess as to your environment is:
English Server
Locale of console for person writing the template: Russian
locale of person receiving the email: none (this is empty by default and must be set)
You can create templates with many languages, and the system created templates (like the one you have success with) has some English-US text in it.
When we go to send the notification, we grab the locale of the user (specified in configuration items -> user -> locale), if it is blank, we use the server locale instead. Then we look for that locale in the template (specified in the lower right hand Language: selection), if it is empty we don't send an email, if there is text we process the tokens you insert and send the email.
When you go to create a notification template, it automatically selects your locale language by default. So my guess is that you are creating a template with text that is only in Russan langauge setting. Try looking at the language specified for the default template that has success, then add some text for that language in your template and try again. If it works, then you probably need to specify the locale for the user you are trying to notify.
This allows you to setup a situation where you can define one situation where different people get different templates based on their locale setting. I hope this translates well, if not please ask more questions for clarification.- Proposed As Answer by Travis Wright MSFTOwner Tuesday, March 16, 2010 5:11 AM
