    Hi all,

any ideas why in the options pane in WSUS (with SCE 2007) that when i select 'Use Group Policy or registry settings on computers' after 20 mins or so i can check back and it has automatically defaulted back to 'Use the Update Services console'??? Is this a glitch or am i doing something wrong?

    Anyone had the same issue??

    thanks
    Aaron

    Hello Aaron,

The WSUS is not a stand-alone software on the SCE server. Instead, it is a built-in part of SCE 2007. The agents and Computer Groups will be handled by SCE 2007. So it will refuse the option 'Use Group Policy or registry settings on computers' on the WSUS console.

You need use the SCE console if you want to create or manage a computer group. Do not use the WSUS console.

    Thanks,

    Hello,

Sorry to hear that. I hope there are some improvements in SCE v2. To help Microsoft to improve SCE v2, could you share some more experience about using SCE 2007? For example, why you need the WSUS console and the option 'Use Group Policy or registry settings on computers'?

    Thanks in advance.
