If you're having a problem with Windows, or your laptop, or installing some software, or with using windows update, we are very sorry to hear about your problem, but this is NOT the forum to post your question in.

This forum is reserved for discussion regarding TechNet, both the website and the Subscription.   I dont want you to waste your time, but if your post is not about one of these things, I will move it to the off topic forum, thus negating the effort you put into your post.

Here are some better places to post your questions than posting them here:

http://answers.microsoft.com  - this is a general help forum about a variety of user products like Windows and Office.  If you're having a problem with your Laptop, try posting here.

If you're not sure where to post your question, we have a forum titled "Where is the forum for...?" which is where you find out where the right place to post is.  Please use this forum as it will save everyone time:  http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/whatforum/threads

Thanks for keeping the TechNet Site Feedback forum about TechNet Site Feedback.

    Mike

Hey Mike. Nice to meet you . Hope you can help me. I am pretty much computer illiterate, self taught, but I have never had a ble screen b4. Bam!Wathing NetFlix( Kolchak:Night Stalker....memories of better times, good show, check it out)-and it froze up. Went to help...no answers. Tried Forum...no answers. What happened....I recently did a complete reinstall...all good so far...I created a restore point, clicked back up c drive and got error code 81000029. What have I done bro? No new hardware added...settings appear to be ok...I did recently change cpu name... I am also having errors onm my printer..."broken signature. I ran set up disc again but same. Can that be doing it? I am using Windows Vista HomeBasic....can reach me at ...randycamp62@yahoo.com....sure would appreciate it brother...Thx

    PapaC,

you probably want to read again what I wrote above.  Let me know if you have any questions about that in particular.   For Windows Vista questions like yours, I'd suggest posting your question in the Windows Vista section of http://answers.microsoft.com, which is right here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/default.aspx#tab=3

    Thanks,
    Mike

Sorry to hear about your frustrations with your son's new PC, Cary.  You seem to have found the right place to post your question.

I'm going to delete your posts here since they're off topic.
