Max text replication size

Hi,
Max text replication size , i need to increase it, i have increased it from server property dialog box .i was transfering image datatype where i found problem.now it is working.
1) is it correct to increse it from sqlserver property?
2) please tel me about (-1 vs increasing the value from 65536 on words), which is good?
3)and how much we should increase , what are the pros and cons.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms179573.aspx Please refer this msdn article. -1 means the maximum size depending on the data type. It is usually better to set it right size than putting it to max size. If you change it to the maximum, it will cause network latency.
