I created a table having the fields username and password using the create command
create table login (username varchar(20),password varchar(20))
but, i am not able to give input with numbers and letters
Will you please guide me.

INSERT INTO [login] VALUES ( 'sampleUsername' , 'samplePassword'); SELECT * FROM [login];
But it is a very bad practice to store passwords. Store a salted hash of it. Read Salted Password Hashing - Doing it Right. ASP.NET for example has already a built-in Membership provider, which implements this.
