I am very curious when SC2012 Virtual Machine Manager SP1 is going to be released. This is needed to manage Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V in a production environment. Currently CTP2 is available. I guess after CTP2 a SP1 Beta will be released followed by SP1.
anyone with info on the release of Beta and SP1?

Microsoft must hurry then. CTP2 is a pre-beta release and came out in June. I guess first a Beta will be released unless this has been done already in stealth mode.
Windows Server 2012 RTM is first week of August.

So you are saying that we won't be able to use Windows Server 2012 in a production environment until January 2013 ?
(No point in deploying Server 2012 if it can only be managed with a beta version of SCVMM ...)

Correct.
To be able to manage Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V using SC2012 in *production environments* you must use SP1. Release date of SP1 is not clear. Microsoft so far did not announce anything. As we are now on CTP2 and a Beta is expected before GA, the GA of SP1 could be near the end of 2012. Maybe even begin of 2013!
Using SC2012 CTP2 of SP1, Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V can be managed. Mind though:
-upgrade from CTP2 to SP1 is not possible. You will need to reinstall SC2012 components when SP1 is released.
-CTP2 is for evaluation purposes only. Not for production. Microsoft will not support CTP2 in production and you might even violate the EULA when CTP2 is used in production.
Do not ask me why Microsoft does not release SP1 at the same moment or shortly after GA of Windows Server 2012. Probably strategy of marketing department.

More like software development being late, that would be a stup...strange marketing strategy.
If we consider Windows 2012 RTM as being "production ready" , a 2013 GA for SC2012 SP1 would mean half a year of delay for this new OS to be usable ...
So, anyone know if its possible run 2 SCVMM platforms on the same domain ? (one SP0 for 2008R2s, and one CTP2/beta for "labs" 2012s)

Yes - you can have multiple VMM servers in the same domain. Remember that a virtualization host can only be managed by one VMM server at the time.

We have some confusion over which version has been installed in our environment. Selecting about on the VMM console returns
System Center 2012
Virtual Machine Manager
Product ID:03536-089-6002015-02255
Service Pack 1
Version: 3.1.5016.0
Evaluation Edition - 145 Days remaining
Can this be upgraded to with SP1 for use in a production environment?

Hi,
I found SC 2012 with sp1. How can I upgrade my production SCCM 2012 directly.

Wednesday, February 13, 2013 7:52 AMWhether SCVMM 2012 sp1 has been released if not when it is expected. SCVMM 2012 will fully support windows 2012 server and can that be used in production.
