is vmm 2012 sp1 ctp compatible with windows server 2012 RC?

We have successfully be running the ctp with windows server 8 beta since the ctp was released. So when WS2012RC came along we took a couple of machines and brought it up. We can "live nothing" migrate machines from WS8Beta machines to WS2012RC and back. But cannot create new vms in VMM 2012 CTP running in a WS2012RC VM hosted on a host running WS2012RC.
Thank you,
Jeff Landry

Is your SCVMM 2012 SP1 CTP server running on the Server 2012 RC?
Historically, SCVMM needs to be installed on the newest OS supported. And, in this case it was developed against the Beta - so, if Server changed, then something might be broken or the SCVMM Server OS needs to be at RC as well.
(just a theory mind you)

Hi Jeff
SCVMM 2012 SP1 CTP1 does work only with Windows Server "8" Beta. We need to wait on the next SCVMM build to get support for Windows Server 2012 Release Candidate.
Cheers

CTP2 is compatible with Server 2012 RC.
If I had to take a guess, I'd say CTP3 will be compatible with Server 2012 RTM...

Hi Jeff is there any update in this?
I am trying to install SCVMM 2012 in a WS2012 Standard and keeps sending error incompatible OS version.

SCVMM 2012 was released prior to Server 2012. It requires Server 2008 R2 (SP1).
it is the SCVMM 2012 SP1 that is intended for Server 2012. Both for installing on Server 2012 and managing Server 2012 Hyper-V.

Thanks Jeff but I already have a server 2008 with scvmm2012 with no SP, in order to advance with all server virtualization, I need to deploy scvmm 2012 sp1, because we intend to update all our systems to 2012.
So the real question would be when will be available the final release for MSCVMM2012 SP1.
Thanks in advance.
