Hi to everybody. The problem in that i cannot load the WBS Modeler add-in for Visio 2007. It isn't shown in Visio 2007 menu after installation.

I checked the registry key and found out that everything is ok with installation, even Loadbehavior value is set to 3. But not in list of COM Add-ins in Visio 2007 nor in menu, WBS modeler is shown.

Help me this way please, cuz its connected with my job and i cannot do the things right without this add-in.

I found out with some moments by myself. I tried to install WBS Modeler for Visio 2010. Everything works good and lights up perfect. I checked the installation folder under "programm files" directory and found all files needed for add-in loading(manifest.vsto, Modeler dll's and so on)- i am talking about 2010 Wbs Modeler. But when i start to check the WBS Modeler 2007 installation folder, i didn't find an application manifest with .vsto extention and no manifest key was found in registry. How can i mess with that problem?

Not sure what happened to the setupsince I handed the coe over toMicrosoft, but you could try the following in the immediate window in VBA

    Visio.Application.ClearCustomMenus

    Visio.Application.ClearCustomToolbars

    Then restart Visio.

Help. 2010 WBS Modeler won’t export or import to MS Project.

Set-up: New desktop, HP Pavilion HPE, Visio 2010 Pro (32x), MS Project 2003 SP3, WBS Modeler 2010 (32x).

WBS Modeler installed just fine. I can launch the WBS Modeler template, add parent stencil and children (See graphic).

Export and import just do not work.

Pressing the export button results in no activity. Pressing the import button, results in the "file open window" launching, I can then browse and select an .mpp file. But when I press ok for the import, nothing happens.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? I really want this to work. Thanks in advance.

     Proposed

It is not unusual for the two products to be tied together via their versions

    v2007 => p2007 should work

    v2010 => p2010 should work

    v2010 >< p2003 may have problems

    Thanks, Al.

Compatibility across 2010 products appears to be the solution. After reluctantly deciding to purchase MS Project 2010, I tried the WBS Modeler import & export, and both worked.

Please note that the WBS Modeler Implementation Guide (.pdf) states that Microsoft Office Project 2003 SP1 or later (see below) is a pre-requisite.

Excerpt from the Implementation Guide (Page 4 of 27). See Item 2.1.2.

    2 Installation

    2.1 Pre-requisites

               1. Microsoft Visio 2010 Professional or Premium

               2. Microsoft Office Project 2003 SP1 or later

               3. .NET Framework 4.0

So, as you suggested, WBS Modeler export and import will work when WBS Modeler, Visio, and MS Project are all 2010. Thanks again for all your help.

Hope this post helps others who may be trying to solve this problem.

Thank you, this helped me.  I'm using Project 2007 and Visio 2010.  My company is still using some combination of an older Sharepoint and Project Server 2007 and hasn't moved up.

My plan now is to install an instance of Project 2010, and hope my Project 2007 and access to the Server are not interrupted... we'll see.

Did you required Project Professional 2010 or just plain Project Standard 2010 to get your WBS Modeler working?

It won't work with Visio 2010 Premium 32 bit and Project 2010 Standard 32 bit on a Win 7 64 bit.

    Any solutions yet?

    The same issue.

Visio Premium 32 bit, Project Professional 2010 32 bit, Win 7 64 bit.

WBS Modeller installed, I can draw WBS, but import/export - doesn't work.

Files open in MS Projects are not listed in export dialog, after selecting the file and pressing the OK button - nothing happened :(

I believe I am having the same issue as Vitaliy. No menu dropdown appears from which I could import a MS Project file. All I see is a shape object to begin drawing with.

However my installation is all 64bit.

    Visio Premium 2010 64bit
    Project Professional 64bit
    Windows 7 64bit
    .NET Framework 4.0
    WBS Modeler 64bit

I've checked the Trust settings and everything appears to be fine for the WBS modeler.

    Any other places to check??

    Hi,

I seem to be getting the same problem described above.

    Running the following:

    Visio Professional 2010 32bit

    Project Professional 2010 32bit

    WBS modeler 32 bit.

    Windows 7 64 bit

Works fine, however when I go to import, it will allow me to select the project file and then just shows an empty WBS Element Explorer window.

    Any help greatly appreciated.
