    Did anyone see this new download: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=d7c9a07a-5267-4bd6-87d0-e2a72099edb7? ("A blocking tool is available for organizations that would like to temporarily prevent installation of Service Pack updates through Windows Update.")

    Can it be interpreted as a sign that SP1 final is near, so organizations can block interim installations for a while?

      Hi Sanmartin, exactly SP1 RTM for Windows 7/Server 2008 R2 is very closed. GA (General Availability)  will be available for public in Q1 2011, but the RTM version will be installed on organizations and other sector before the end of the year.

        I saw that, and my first thought was "why didn't they use an ADMX, instead of ADM?   So much nicer using ADMX".   Also since it is just a reg key, why not mention using  GPO Preferences as another method.

        But then I looked inside the download

          Seems like it was already used as a preparation tool for Vista SP1. As Vista SP1 came out in February, 2008 (RTM, GA was in March/April), that would be a nice hint for the Windows 7 SP1 schedule.
