    installed it on windows server two thousand eight r two. install took forever even though i had no roles or optional features installed.

              Update: I installed the update on faster computer, and the update went faster. The first computer that I tried 2 install Windows Server 2008 R2 + Service Pack 1 RC on is a Dell  Inspiron Net Book with only 1 GB of Ram that origionally came with Windows 7 Starter Edition. The Faster computer that I tried out was a Dell Inspiron Zino HD 400 with 2 GB's, which origionally came with Windows 7 Home PremiumEdition. I have the OEM Disks, so I will be able return the computers back 2 their origional condition once the beta testing is over just in case any body is wondering why I am playing around with Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 RC.

                I can see that the extraction (Delta package Expander - DPX) of the files from the cab takes long:

                Start:

                The rest seems to be ok, some file hashes don't match.

                Next time make sure, that no 3rd party tools are running in background (Antivirus tools) which block the extraction of the files.

                But I can't see any errors why you see no installed roles.
