AnswerSysinternals Desktops not working on Win7 Professional 64Bit?

Sysinternals Desktops V1.0 (no newer version available) gives me a blank screen whenever I choose an alternate desktop, no matter how I choose it (via hotkey or via mouse). From then on the screen stays blank, even when trying to go back to initial desktop # 1. The mouse pointer is visible though.

The only way to get out of this is entering task manager with CTL-ALT-DEL, which shows fine and then do a logoff.

Running Windows 7 Professional 64Bit, fresh install, latest graphic drivers, all updates.

    Any ideas?

Found a workaround in the Sysinternals forum:

If you disable "Run automatically at logon" and invoke it manually, it works.
To have it running automatically you can then put a link into the Autostart folder.

However, there seems to be something wrong with the way Win7 64Bit invokes it via "Run automatically at logon".

I've got the same setup ... seeing the same problem.  It had worked for over a year, then stopped working when I upgraded to my vista (Home Premium 64-bit) to SP 2.

    Hi tt.froehlich

    Thanks for your post.

Are you getting the problem in all themes or only in Aero Theme? Please try it in all themes and try by turning off "Enable Transparency" in Aero theme.

    Thanks and Regards

    Hi Ananda

no success, doesn't work no matter what theme, no matter Aero on or off, no matter transparency options on or off, sorry.

I don't know if that's any helpful, but the program *does* work well under Vista32 with desktop transparency options.

    Thanks,

    Till
