Hi there :)

Now I'm nearly certain that I do have a registry issue, involving the windows/syswow64 part of it.

For Windows Vista/Windows 7 users:

Click Start>All Programs>Accessories, then right-click on “Command Prompt” and select “Run as Administrator”

Type in the following command exactly as you see it and press ENTER.

secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\inf\defltbase.inf /db defltbase.sdb /verbose

Wait for the command to complete, it can take some time so please be patient.

Once the command has completed, try to register a dll file again.

Acer Aspire 4752ZG laptop.

Even after this, if I try as such:

1. Open cmd prompt as admin.

2. Change to windos/syswow64 folder.

3. Run regsvr32 jscript.dll

I get 0x80004005 error code.

I'd guess that I will have to wipe the hard disk, then do a fresh install - myself (?).
