Older version of Eudora (6) and Windows 7

I've just started using a new computer with Windows 7.
I've been utterly happy with my older version of Eudora, which I think is 6.2. I don't know for sure at the moment because the motherboard on my old computer died. It is with my computer guy until we can figure out what to do about it. I know for sure that I need to get as much off my old computer (XP) as I can, including all my Eudora emails.
I know that there was a newer version of Eudora that I never upgraded to. And I'm aware that there is a Mozilla alternative called Thunderbird. The bottom line is that I don't want to lose ANY of my email history... not one bit of it. I want to retain easy access to all of it, no matter what.
I HATE webmail of any kind..... and I won't use Outlook.
I LOVE Eudora.
So.... am I going to be able to install my old version of Eudora onto Windows 7? Will there be any potential problem areas?
Thank you!

Hi,
You can check whether this tool would compatible with Windows 7 via the following link.
Compatibility Centerhttp://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/win7/CompatCenter/Home?Language=en-US
Also you can try refer to Help with Windows 7 compatibility problem
If this doesn’t work, you need to Eudora support for more help about the compatibility issue.
Hope this helps.

Hello bwhughes.
According to the informations published in the Windows 7 Compatibility Center web site, Eudora 6 is not compatible with Windows 7.
You can try using the "Run programs made for previous versions of Windows" feature in Control Panel -> Programs in Windows 7.
Alternatively, you can rely on virtualization: if you have Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate, download and install Windows Virtual PC with XP Mode (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx), that will provide you with a 32 bit Windows XP Professional SP3 environment where you can install and use Eudora 6; otherwise, download and install a virtualization program like Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 SP1 (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=24439) or Oracle VirtualBox (http://www.virtualbox.org), create a virtual machine and install the Windows version that you need to run Eudora. You must have a valid Retail License for any Windows version that you want to virtualize.Bye.
