    Hello,

I have problems with updating nero8 essentials. I'm able to install it without problems. When I update it first uninstalls (as usual) the programs and after that I have to reboot to install the new version. After the reboot I expect the install to start, but nothing happens. In Vista I had no problems, what could I do wrong?

Are you running the update from within the Nero interface or from a executable file?  If you have a specific executable file you can always try Compatibility Mode.  If it is this way from within the Nero Interface then it might need to be run in Compatibility Mode itself to work.

For Compatibility Mode right click the executable file and select properties.  There click on the Compatibility Tab and check the box to enable it, then select Vista SP1.  then try to run it again and see if it works.

    Hello Alex,

    Thanks for the response.

At first I was running the update from within Nero. Because this didn't work I used the executable.
It first deinstalled everything but did not start the update (I didn't use the compatibility), then I started the executable again by hand and it updated nero to the most recent version. It works but not automated.
I didn't try the compatibility mode on the executable, it might work but I don't deinstall :-)

    Regards,
