Wednesday, March 10, 2010 2:46 AMI am running Windows 7 Ultimate.
I have been using the Weather Underground Sidebar Gadget (http://gallery.live.com/liveItemDetail.aspx?li=c291b989-d35d-4aba-a34e-bd32efeae038&bt=1&pl=1) for about 6 months. Starting about a week ago the gadget will sporadically display the message: "Please check your internet connection" and I will be unable to connect to their server to retrieve weather information for up to several hours.
I have tried other weather gadgets which all work correctly, but I like the display and functionality of this particular gadget.
What could the problem be?

What changes you have made recently?
You can try the following suggestion to troubleshoot your issue, please test your the Gadget after each suggestion.
1. System restore.
2. Reset the Settings.ini file.
3. New account.
To reset the settings.ini file, you can try the following steps:
1. Open Folder Options->View tab-> choose Show hidden files and folders and uncheck Hide Protected Operating System Files and Folders box ->click OK.
2. Go to C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar (where <user name> is the user you log into Win7 with). Delete the Settings.ini file,
then browse into the Gadgets directory, select CTRL+A (select all) and delete them.
Wednesday, March 10, 2010 7:52 PMI have not made any changes prior to experiencing the problems with the weather gadget.
I tried each of your suggestions, but the Weather Underground Sidebar Gadget is still experiencing the same problems.
All other weather gadgets that I have tested work correctly, and the Weather Underground Sidebar Gadget was working fine for several months, until just recently.
