Hi All,
I have a vendor msi which after installation creates shortcut under start menu and the launching requires the admin privileges .kindly let me know if we can avoid the admin access so that standard user with out admin access can run the application without any problem.?
Many thanks

That depends on why it needs admin priviliges. Without understanding this, we can't really answer the questions. I suggest you try it in a lab-software.Nicke Källén | The Knack| Twitter: @Znackattack

Are you virtualizing this application with Microsoft Application Virtualization?
To prevent the application from requesting elevation, create a compatibility shim with the Application Compatibility Toolkit. See this video for an overview: Detecting and Mitigating Administrative Privilege Requirements with the Standard User Analyzer

Wednesday, November 21, 2012 2:55 AMNo I am not virtualizing it.I have simply installed vendor msi on machine and when i launch the shotcut it does not launch at all.but only launches with admin rights and i observe that it starts services during the admin launch.

So have you looked into the info I provided?:

As your question has nothing to do with Application Virtualization and you've posted in the App-V forums, I'm going to move this thread to a more appropriate forum.
