SonicWALL Global VPN Client 4.0.0.835 not working - x86
SonicWALL Global VPN Client 4.0.0.835 not working - x86
- After the upgrade, SonicWall VPN Client will not load with a "failed to load IPSec" error. I attempted to re-install, and run as Administrator, but the Deterministic Network Enhancer will not install. Any ideas?

- Found this solution : The SonicWALL IPsec Driver startup type has to be placed at Automatic.
- Open Device Manager
- in View menu, select Show hidden devices
- expand Non-Plug and Play Drivers
- open SonicWALL IPsec Driver and set Startup Type to Automatic
- If current status is Stopped, start it.
Found this in Sevenforums.com while looking for a solution for the VPN-SSL client that didn't work either. Many thanks to jamesvdm.- Proposed As Answer byacharlebois Tuesday, March 03, 2009 6:15 AM

- I am haviing the same problem. Did you find a fix for this?
- I'm also having the same issue.
Why is this marked as answered when there is no answer?
Nomadsoul - You don't 'fix' a bug in a beta, you identify it, and upgrade to the next version. A 'workaround' may be the answer you _want_, but that is not always going to be the 'answer'. As this Forum moves past the beta, more workarounds are going to be available.Rating posts helps other usersMark L. Ferguson MS-MVP
- Hi
Did you ever find the cause and/or solution for this problem? I am having more or less the same problem, however, if I reinstall the client, it works, however, upon restart - then I get the "failed to load ipsec driver" message. So in a nutshell, it works as long as I dont reboot.
Any ideas
Dan - You got further than I did. I eventually gave up and went back to Vista. I will try the Beta again in about a month or so to see if someone has found a solution.

- There is a client 4.1.1.302 avail from SonicWall. I'm using it on both x32 and x64 Win 7 clients and a x64 Windows Server 2008 sp2 rc. They also have some good advice about cleanup and the most current version of the DNE.
M A Reeds MD PhD - Awesome, I am glad I came back and checked this post. Your fix worked perfectly.
Thanks,
Mitch - I really didn't expect a solution to this, I see it is a repost but who cares as long as it works and helped someone out! Works Perfectly! Thanks
- excellent. I really missed this portion few times, when i used SONIC VPN on Windows 7
