Problem Installing Office 2003 from CD with Windows 7

The answers in the related topics haven't been able to fix my problem.
I have a brand new Toshiba Satellite laptop, Windows 7 64-bit, and I'm trying to install Office Standard 2003 from the CD I bought in 2008 and installed on my previous laptop. I keep getting an error that I need to have XP, 2003, or 2007.
I've tried the following answers to other postings with the same issue:
- I tried copying the files from CD to the hard drive and running setup from there.
- I can't get far enough to download SP 3, see a license agreement, or be an administrator.
If anyone can answer, please spell out the steps. For example, I copied all the files from the CD to my hard drive, but "run it from there" needs more explanation. I double clicked all files named "SETUP" but it still didn't work.
Thanks in advance for your time!
Jason
