Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT) Windows 7 SP1 RC compatible?

I am trying to install RSAT on my Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Edition x64 SP1 RC system. I updated to SP1 RC a week or so ago and I already HAD RSAT on my system. I just installed a fresh image of Windows 7 SP1 RC and NOW I am installing RSAT and I get error message below. This is the file I have copied on my corporate network that worked before. I copy it down to my local desktop and I run it. I am local and domain administrator.
RSAT - KB958830 - Remote Server Adminstrator Tools for Windows 7 - amd64fre_GRMRSATX_MSU.msu
Windows Update Standalone Installer runs and gives me an error The update is not applicable to your computer.
I have restarted to see if this will resolve the issue and I have all updates. I am still not able to resolve the problem. I am local admin and a domain administrator.
Thank you!

- Expand the contents of the *.msu file from the command line using the expand command.
expand -f:* "amd64fre_GRMRSATX_MSU.msu" %temp%\RSAT
- After extracting the contents of the .msu file, you can install it by using Package Manager (pkgmgr.exe) from the command line using the following type syntax:
pkgmgr.exe /n:%temp%\RSAT\Windows6.1-KB958830-x64.xml
- You won't see anything on screen but give it a couple of minutes to complete.
- After that, visit the "Turn Windows features on or Off "dialog and enable the tools you need. :)
Credits go to wydmex . I hope this helps.

Problem Solved! NOT compatible with Windows 7 X64 SP1 RC!
I uninstalled Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Edition x64 SP1 RC, and then I restarted and then I was able to install Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT) without a problem!

this is correct. When you now install the Sp1 RC, the RSAT tools are updates to Sp1 level.I uninstalled Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Edition x64 SP1 RC, and then I restarted and then I was able to install Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT) without a problem!

Tuesday, January 18, 2011 8:24 PMIt is a shame this package will not install on systems with the SP1 RC.

How is this a solution? :)
Most people that evaluate SP1 are admins. Admins usually need server admin tools...
I wonder if RSAT will be available at the time SP1 is publicly released.

Sunday, February 20, 2011 11:58 AMCareful with this approach, DirServices team says the top level cab cannot be bypassed. The workaround for now is as you list below, update RSAT prior to SP1 installation. Reference: http://blogs.technet.com/b/askds/archive/2011/02/10/rtm-rsat-and-sp1-win7-shot-over.aspx

I found a SUPER simple answer to the problem if you've already installed SP1
Open Regedit and broswe to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
Modify CSDBuildNumber from 1130 to 1
Install the tools and then change the value back to 1130.

Not working either
Or, should I reboot after modifying that key?

Wednesday, March 30, 2011 11:41 AMYolinares, it is strange, as I am on RSAT and Windows 7 SP1 x64 Professional and I am not having a problem. I have not had to do any registry hack's.
