After collecting data with the ACT-tool from couple of different workstations, we have found that the Community assessment data in the Windows 7 RC reports is very limited for the applications on the tested workstations.  It seems like there isn't a lot of compatibility data available for these applications installed on the tested workstations?  Is it a recommended option to use the Vista reports to assess the applications, as there seems to be some more data available?

Yes if it works in Win Vista - It would work on Win 7 . The same goes for the issues as well - So for the time being till more assesment data gets available you could rely on the Vista data.
