    VMWare and VirtualBox not withstanding....

    I'm curious if its possible and if so, does there exist an application that simulates a quarantine box to open potentially dangerous files without exposing the system?

    My reasoning is the saf(er) use of keygens without the risk of exposing my system to whatever nasty thing that's waiting inside.
