CD/DVD-Rom drive opening
-
Tuesday, April 10, 2012 7:11 AMWhen I click on the drive letter of my dvd-drive in windows explorer I am prompted to insert a disc and then the tray opens - can I stop this behaviour? I dont want the tray to open unless I command it explicitly.

Write the following into reg file and execute with elevated rights:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoCDBurning"=dword:00000001Regards

Tuesday, April 10, 2012 9:37 AMThanks Milos, but that has the side-effect of disabling burning a cd or dvd from windows explorer right? I just want to disable the automatic opening of the tray as it is driving me crazy... :D
