When i select for the wallpaer to change the picture every 5 minutes it creates a new theme
And it currently seems to me that it isnt updating new photos. i have had this theme for a couple months now and am noticing that it isnt getting new photos., the reason i am noticing this is that my notebook computer has the same theme is set for change every 15 minutes (default) but on my desktop i have it set to every 5 minutes and so here we are. I like this theme and would like to see it working properly.
My desktop is connected to the internet via Cat5e to my notebook computer to a wireless connection and i am wondering if this is maybe why.
not sure where to put this forum post so i put into the miscellanous forum.

Hi,
Generally, this type issue occurs can be caused by the network problem.
I suggest you testing the issue by connect to Internet directly or move desktop into another network.Kim Zhou

My desktop background is currently stuck on one photo (transitions), i deleted the terra dynamic theme and all its contents and it is still stuck on that photo (not transitioning), even if i select a differant theme it is stuck on a differant theme and i am unable to select a new theme. i am also unable to right-click and select next background because it remains on that one photo when i select that (transitioning).
i went as far as having to delete the photos in the folder of terra dynamic and it is still the same photo.

I found that the best way to resolve RSS theme related issues is to delete the theme feeds and start again.
I restarted the feed sync;
msfeedssync disable
msfeedssync enable
Then selected a new temporary theme. Delete the old ones (and any other RSS themes)
Navigate to C:\Users\your-user\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Feedsv (remember to replace your-user with your actual userid!)
You'll see a few 'themeserver' feeds in there, like this;
http~c~f~fthemeserver~dmicrosoft~dcom~fdefault~daspx~mp=Bing&c=Aerial_Imagery_of_Europe&m=en-gb~.feed-ms
Delete all of these & then go back to desktop prefs and add the RSS theme as you did originally.
(apologies for the proposing/unproposing up there, my bad)

I found this Microsoft link to be the answer; http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2504610?wa=wsignin1.0
The photo stuck and wasnt transitioning; found that worked was You may have a corrupted TranscodedWallpaper.jpg file. :
Method 2: Corrupted TranscodedWallpaper.jpg
If the TranscodedWallpaper.jpg file has become corrupted, you may be unable to change the desktop background picture. To resolve this issue, delete the TranscodedWallpaper.jpg file. To delete the TranscodedWallpaper.jpg file, follow these steps.
- Click Start, paste the following text into the search box, and then press Enter
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\ - Right-click the TranscodedWallpaper.jpg file, and then click Rename.
- Change the file name to TranscodedWallpaper.old, and then click Yes when you are prompted.
- If slideshow.ini is listed, double-click this file. Slideshow.ini should open in Notepad. Select all the text in slideshow.ini if any exists, and then press Delete on the keyboard.
- On the File menu, click Save.
- Close Notepad.
- Close the Windows Explorer window, and then browse to the picture that will be set as the background image.
- Try to apply a background picture again.
And the solution suggested is to rename the .jpg to .old
that worked than selected a new theme and than deleted the old one.
the theme now transitions.
windows did not find slideshow.ini though.
I have downloaded and started again and The terra dynamic theme is not updating the rss feed and currently has Four photo's.

I figured it out. The following link is broken, it downloads the theme but does not ask if the user wants to download attachments.
The following link is the one that is not a broken link and works the way it is said that it should. (it downloads the theme and than asks if the user wants to than also download attachments).
