Large Zip file wont display directory listing in Windows Explorer

I just installed a backup program Backup Maker (running windows 7 64 bit and 12 gig of memory). It backs up data as zip files. So i ran a test script and all worked well. Then I made a script for doing a real backup. The resulting file is 91,118,979 KB. Yep pretty big.
If I double click it in windows explorer, i should see a directory listing of the included files. Not! The green bar at the top that displays the path has been blinking for a half hour. I am of course assuming that the zip file is valid. Maybe it is actually a corrupted file, but i dont really want wait the hours for the backup to run again for a test.
Ok. so now i have to go break up the backup into smaller ones.
I thought I would post this in case someone else has run into this..or not. Or so that in the off chance some at Microsoft may recognize it as a problem that needs fixed.

Good timing..as soon as i posted this.. the directory listing popped up.
So i guess the question changes to why so long do display the directory listing. Ti took probalby 45 minutes.
