    SIR, 

           WHENEVER I INSERT MY PEN DRIVE AND TRY TO DELETE SOME FOLDERS THROUGH LAPTAOP(WIN 7 HOME PREMIUM). IT DISPLAYS THAT YOU NEED EVERYONE/ADMINISTRATOR PERMISSION TO DELETE THESE FOLDER, I ALSO TRIED UAC BUT IT DID'NT WORK, PLEASE HELP ME,,, :(

    I had viewed your advised "link" but i'm unable to understand few terms, please tell how can i search and seize the ownership of my folder,I tried to search security tab in properties but couldn't find it.. these terms are new to me, kindly tell me the step to get these "siezement of ownership" done and administrator issue as well,, thankyou..

     Hi

       I think you don't have all permission to delete the
    folder or any file which is stored in flash drive. Here are some tips
    for you to get rid of this issue

     1:Right click flash
    drvie>property>Security>Edit>add (user name you want to
    assign permission select full permision) if you issue still persist

       change the owenership in permission. hope it will help if it doe not

    2: Create a new account on windows as an administrator and logon to that account and format the pen drive.

    You report that you cannot find the Security tab. To let us find out what is going on, you need to post a detailed list of the steps you took, e.g. like so:

    1. I opened Windows Explorer.
    2. I navigated to drive F: (my pendrive)
    3. I right-clicked the folder F:\xxx
    4. . . .

    Hi,

    For exmaple, i want check the security of the folder named Win71. Right click the folder, select properties, then the Windows below would pop up. You would find the security tab.

    Ok Sir, so here it goes like these,

    1.  I insert my pendrive(drive G).

    2. I navigated it through window explorer.

    3. right click on folder(say movies) in drive G.

    4. click on properties.

    5. then i find only five tab keys ie, general;tool; hardware; sharing;customize; but i'm unable to find security tab key.

    so please tell me how do i get these security tab key through these step, waiting for your reply ,, thank you sir...

    Hi,

    Follow these steps to enable this tab.

    1.Open a Windows Explorer. To do that choose Start | Run..., type explorer and then hit enter.
    2.Choose Folder Options... from the Tools menu. Click the View tab and then scroll all the way down in the Advanced settings list. Make sure that Use simple file sharing (Recommended) is not checked.

    hi,

      As i follows the instructions what you had posted,

    1.I only find 5 tab keys ie general, hardware, tools, sharing, customizes, but did not get security tab key.

    2. please tell me the step to make new account as an administrator? I only found, is the option of user account, and is it possible to have 2 administrator in one system windows?

    Hi,

    What's the type of this pen drive? Is it FAT32 or NTFS? If the format of the drive is FAT 32, you would not find the security tab.

    How to check this option? Please right click the drive, select properties. You would see the details about the drive.

    Hello,

             Instead of "Use simple file sharing(Recommended)",  I get"Use sharing Wizard(Recommended)", i unchecked it, but still not disover that tab key... not only the particular pen drive's folder or anything i want to delete, if i use other removable disk drive it requires administrator function to perform saying "You require permission from everyone to make change to these file"...

    Hi,

    First of all, Please back up all the data in the pen drive. 

    You can copy the data to a local drive. Then right click the pen drive-> select Format option-> Select NTFS option in the File System, also check under Quick Format->Click Format. Then the drive would tranfer the type from FAT32 to NTFS.

    After you format the pen drive, the data in that drive would lost. Please copy the previous backup data to the drive.

    hello,

           i made another account and set it as administrator, and try to delete or copy the thing from pendrive to particular folder but still it's asking the permission to move the files, even other administrator also comprises the same issue...

    Hi,

      Aadministrator is not even allowing it to copy to other local disk,, again and again it's asking permission, i tried to format pen drive on keeping in NTFS mode,, it didn't work...:(

    If you are unable to format a FAT pendrive then there is some third-party software on that drive that protects it. I can see these options for you:

    • Read the manual that came with the device.
    • Use the "clean" command in diskpart.exe (very dangerous when used by untrained people).
    • Boot the machine with an Ubuntu CD, then format the device. http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/use-ubuntu-live-cd-to-backup-files-from-your-dead-windows-computer/

    hello sir,

               The instructions given by you and other was followed. i just turn off the FAT32 as per the command through diskprt as per you instruction, it is harmful, but i found no choice and perform it. i also went to the various links given by you as well as others, there i find a key of "anti-virus" security setting, as i installed a new anti-virus few months before, its security option for drive is turned on, i just turned it off. my problem is solved.. it's only because of you and others as well as my friends which trigger"security tab key" in my mind. Mistakenly i didn't inform you about the new "anti virus installation", ie, why i'm not clear with it. but now i'm... i always appreciate your help, wish you a healthy future and other people as well, who tried to help me to resolve my issue..
