    Hello All,

I have someone that is trying to click on links that should open a shared directory on the network. The shared network path is reachable and the user has it mapped to their PC. This is happening on a windows 7 machine with IE 8. The user said it did work before but doesn't work now. I have tried resetting the browser to defaults with no luck. I had them try this on another PC (Windows XP first w/IE8 then downgraded to IE 7) It didn't work with IE 8 but did with IE 7. Is there a setting in IE 8 that would effect this action? Please let me know.

Also, she said this is happening to others as well.

    Thanks,

1 Not sure, if you can reach shared folder twice

2 Use network monitor to resolve what happens. Place here your findings or upload log to pablich cloud repository.

    3. Place your question in IE Technet forum. IE 7 is not the case in W 7. (IE 8 and IE 9 are compatible with W 7. )

    4. Do not compare W XP and W 7. These are quite different systems in more aspects.

    Thanks for responding..

This is now resolved. it was a simple Add to Trusted Sites that resolved it. (For some reason, I didn't think of it before.

    Thanks again!
