So I just upgraded my Windows XP laptop to Windows 7 and I thought that all was going well, and for the most part it was. That was until that I noticed that the display would have random horizontal lines a pixel thick start flickering (doesn't totally distort the display, it is just quite annoying. You can still see 99.9% of the display). The horizontal lines only stay there for an instance. They only happen when the computer is loading various screen. I was wondering if anyone else have been having this problem. I made sure that the driver was up to date. The only other thing that I could think of is that my graphics card is out of date, or that this RC version is not compatible with my graphics card. So any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance for any help that you may provide.

    Hi DDarcy

I don't have a solution for you, but I know that this has been seen and reported before.

The explanation we got back from the beta team was that this is behavior that has been reported when using some graphic card drivers on certain systems. They also stated that this behavior will be resolved as these drivers are optimized for Windows 7 with future updates.

I have a similar problem with an ATI X600 card running dual monitors. The second monitor experiences the flicker, but it only appears for a few minutes at start up and then stabilizes until the next startup.

    Hope this helps.

Thank You for testing Windows 7

Thank you for your help and I was hoping that is was going to be something like that because then I just have to wait and buy the software for the fix. I guess I can just think of the lines as some sort of watermark for now. I just started using Windows 7, and I'm already pretty impressed!
