I have an HP Officejet 7410 All-in-one printer l had been using for a couple of years now that had been working just fine on WIN7 operating system, that is until now. The problem is, my computer resently became so infected that it had to be reformated so I had to reinstall all my programs again. That's when the problem started. When I tried re-installing the original software disk that came with the HP printer product, l get a message that says the program installation could not be completed. So I went to HP website to download an updated software for the printer, and to Microsoft to download a supposed fix for the compactibility issue, but so far, nothing has worked. I have deleted and tried reinstalling both the original disk and the updated software for the product directly from HP website more than ten times, but the problem still persist. I get messages saying that I am not connected to the internet even though I am, it says the printer is not connected with a usb cable, when in fact it is; it says I am running the program on Windows XP, when it is clearly not true. I am running Windows 7. Then it also says that a file USBSCAN.INF is preventing the software from installing. Even though it says all that, I can still print without any problem, but it just wont let me use the scan or fax options. To be able to use these options, you have to first be able to open the "HP Solution Center" of the software in your computer in order to have access to these options and the HP Imaging Device Functions, but these are crucial part of the software section that the installation is not able to complete. The question is, Why? What am l doing wrong? What do l need to fix the problem? Any ideas? Anyone? Please help. I have spent about two days on the computer trying to find a solution to fix the problem, but so far, NADA. I need help.
