it seems Windows keeps notifying me of an "unknown device" that needs updating, the driver I assume. When I click the link, it can't find the device. When I finally got the driver downloaded, now it won't INSTALL . . . I'm at a loss for words . . .

which cam do you have?
could be a USB problem, try removing the device in the device manager and reboot and see if that helps

Monday, June 25, 2012 11:15 PMit's a built in cam. Dell N4010. I've seen the failed to update driver message more than I can count . . . it did, flicker on, for a moment, maybe, 20 seconds and then, POOF! It's like maybe a loose wire? I got no ideas past sending it back to Dell and telling them to KEEP the damned thing!

Hi,
First, please go to device manager, right click the device and uninstall the driver. Then go to Dell website to download and install the driver manually.
