Webcam VX5000
- I am trying to install a VX5000 webcam, LifeCam 3.0 SW with Win7 Ultimate, RTM, latest patches. SW instyalls without any problems. When I run LifeCam, I get an "Initialization Error ". I tried several USB2.0 ports. DXDiag reveals no problems and 3MB of memory. The HW is a Phenom 4 with 8 Gigs. Screen is 1280x960. Graphics Perform=4.1

Hi,
Please check if the suggestions on the following article work:
If the issue persists, try removing and reinstalling the driver software.

Hi,
I would like to confirm if you performed all of the 8 steps on the above KB. Did you reinstall this software?
This issue can be caused by several reasons. I suggest updating BIOS, chipset and device drivers first.
If the issue persists, please test it in Clean Boot mode.
If it does not work, you can collect System Information and upload it to the http://skydrive.live.com/ using your Live ID and I will check it:
System Information
=============
1. Click the Start Button, type "MSINFO32" in the Start Search box and press Enter to start the System Information.
2. On the popup window, on the menu bar, click "File", and click "Save", type a file name and then choose NFO as "Save as type", click Desktop on the left pane, and click Save. (If the Desktop option is not available, please click Browse Folder button first.)
3. Go to the Desktop, right-click on the exported file, choose "Send To" -> "Compressed (zipped) Folder". Upload this file and let me know the link

- Tried all the steps above, still no joy!
Link to file is http://cid-e48aac4cba83c8b9.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/LifeCam.zip - I too am getting the "Initalizaion Error..." when I start the Microsoft LifeCam program. My computer is a new HP with Windows 7 Home 64 bit. The software installed correctly, but I cannot get a picture. I have tried all of the steps in the Microsoft KB article, including a clean boot. But nothing works. I have also installed and uninstalled the software several times. That did not help either.
I know the webcam works because I was able to install it on another computer runnning Vista 32 bit and it installed and runs perfectly on that computer.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. - i just upgraded to win7 64-bit home premium. i tried to install lifecam 3.0 and i am getting the message "setup did not complete downloading and installing files to your computer. please run setup agai nto continue the process" why?
- I posted the files, as you requestd, over 2 weeks ago???
