This is an old pci card in an old gateway pc. It worked ok with a usb drive attached for creating a system image.
But it would not "safely remove" properly...seemed to hang at that point, so rebooted to disconnect it.
The OS install seemed to recognize it fine, and used a microsoft driver. I don't see any adaptec driver for it for windows 7....of course it is old so didn't expect to.
I do see these 4 system log messages that are related to the "removal failure".
Curious if anyone has ever had a similar problem, and what these log messages are telling me?
The application System with process id 4 stopped the removal or ejection for the device USB\VID_04FC&PID_0C25\WDC_WD10EA_____WD-WCATR9865529.

Device action request for device 'USB\VID_04FC&PID_0C25\WDC_WD10EA_____WD-WCATR9865529' was vetoed by 'STORAGE\Volume\{607946e7-c2c2-11e1-b31e-0014d122efa1}#0000002CE3D00000' with veto type 6.

Apparently, the old Adaptec PCI card simply is not compatible with Windows 7.Carey Frisch
