Long delay between jobs when printing under Win7

    Hello.

We have just upgraded our front line POS systems to Win 7 pro (32bit) from XP SP3 and have been noticing significant delays between print jobs across multiple printers (Epson, Zebra, DIS) and interfaces (TCP/IP, USB, Serial). While somewhat annoying, this is only really a problem when our front line staff need to bulk print tickets to Zebra LP2844 ticket printers (local or shared USB port). The bulk printing operation on the RMS software batches the tickets as individual jobs and the delay between tickets can be up to 25 seconds. This means a job that would have taken 1.5 hours under XP now takes 6+ hours. Way too long. We have installed the latest ZDesigner drivers from Zebra (win7 32bit) and updated the clients via MS update with no joy. Any help or ideas would be fabulous.

So after some digging, I discovered an obscure post on the Zebra forums that led to the solution for our ticket printing delays. It seems that in printer properties under Port settings, "enable bidirectional support" is selected by default. Deselecting this box removes the delay which I assume is the printer timing out while waiting for a response. Bottom line: this solved my primary issue.
