Windows 7 RC 64 USB Audio device jitter/distort/Glitches

I have sound jitter and distort for my 2 USB audio device. I have been using it with XP version without any issue.
No matter how I increase the buffer size also no use.

Is this the USB Audio Codec driver issue? please help. (primary sound card in my Asus G1s no issue, only when I use USB audio device)

Windows 7 network after sleep

Hi

I have an HP 8530p laptop, with Windows 7 Ultimate, when my laptop wakes up from sleep mode my network doesn’t work, the wireless is working but not my Ethernet.
If I shutdown the laptop and takes out the battery for 5 min. and start it up again the network is working again.
So it have to be something with the sleep mode, The funny thing is I didn’t have this problem when I was running the Windows 7 beta.

I have tried updating the network driver and BIOs with no luck, I also tried changing the power setting for the nic and tried changing power settings in BIOS, but nothing seem to help.

I have heart some have had this problem in Vista to but still no solution to it

Hi,
I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit on my laptop with 8600M graphic card and tried to use my Samsung 206 BW external monitor like I used to in XP x64.
Although I tried several drivers ( from 156 series to 195 series and from Nvidia to laptopvideo2.com) I could not get 1680x1050 native resolution.
I got all the updates from Microsoft, installed them, got latest or most stable drivers of 8600M, installed driver for Samsung but none of the above solved the problem.
All I could get was 1600x1200 resolution which is incorrect.
Please help me, I liked this system and don't want to roll back to XP.

bluetooth problem

I bought a laptop this spring that had windows vista on it. it had an internal bluetooth and everything was working fine but i hated vista! i could connect to my desktop and my cell phone via bluetooth no problems. i decided to install windows 7 and remove vista. i did that last month and it is working fine, all except for the bluetooth (i think!). so now i can't see my desktop or cell phone or print off the network printer connected to my desktop. Although i can still see the shared documents on my desktop.

i have tried to fix the problem and i am having no luck. first i went to the dell website to try to download the network downloads. i tried to install the drivers off the disk that came with the laptop but it looks like they are all set up for vista so i really didn't proceed. i checked the status of all my drivers on the Device Manager and all are working fine except for the "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter". i did the search online for updates and it said there was an update but the site could not be verified. i decided to go ahead and try the update, hoping it was a true microsoft update. also i tried to re-download some of the network drivers from the dell site at the same time.

now when i start up my computer I get a screen that says "bttray.exe system error" and the details say that "the program can't start because BtBalloon.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem".

I am going crazy with this. I can't sleep. Now I don't know what to do or where to even start. Pleeease help me!

Windows 7 drops Western Digital

I do not have the Nvidia chipset in my Windows 7 X64 but do have the Western Digital MyBook WD5000P032 and it loses the connection as described in this thread. Western Digital's site has little assistance to provide regarding this situation. What can be done to correct this?

Here is what I've tried: Replaced the USB cable; moved to a different USB port; tried in vain to find a new driver; tried the hotfix and it did not resolve the problem.

after a couple of hours bt/P2P torrent downloading, the usb devices (mouse, flash driver, voip adapter) get slow response. mouse point get jumping when moving, noise comes from usb voip phone, etc.
i have installed all latest driver (usb, intel chipset and nic)
stop downloading/reboot can recover the usb ports.

does not happen at the beginning of downloading.

really need help, thanks.

i think it's similar with the nvidia chipset usb power issue, but not same. looks like after a while of P2P downloading, the usb ports lose power and cannot handle normal data transfer.

Adaptec 5805Z and Windows 7x64 install

I installed a 5805Z controller with four 2TB drives, creating a RAID 10. After starting the Win7x64 (Ultimate) install, it progresses to about 65% then hangs. I left it running over the weekend to see if it would continue, but after 3 days, it had only progressed to 70%.

I found another post in this forum about the controller drivers, but I wasn't having any problem with that. (Other than they're located in the AMD64 directory...silly).

The Chassis is a new Dell Dimension T7500.

I'll be happy to provide any further information if needed. I'm just curious if anyone has some experience with this particular controller and Win7x64.

Cant Transfer Files Between 2 External Devices

Main Problem;

Error 1 - Cant transfer files between my external devices. [ Could not find this item. This is no longer located in X:x/x/x dir. Verify the item's location and try again.] or [ Just freeze my computer ]

Related Problems;

a) After " Error 1 " , Cpu Usage is sky high. Its between %90-100. And when i look for programs or services on " Task Manager" for this kind of high usage, i cant find anything. " System Idle Process " shown %90/100 But Cpu Usage also shown same values. !?

b) After " Error 1 " , I must restart my computer because of Cpu Usage. I cant do anything.

c) After " Error 1 " , I cant copy any files to external devices from my hard drives too.

Annoying Solutions;

.) If i really need to transfer any files, first i am copying to my hard drive and later, copying to external device!

Blue Screen whenever I create a new folder on any USB thumb drive

When I plug in any USB thumb drive and create a new folder, I get a blue screen a few seconds later. I'm able to view the files in explorer, but when I create a new folder...blue screen.

I tried 3 different thumb drives. I also plugged the same drives into my XP machine and was able to create folders normally without any crashing. But every time on Windows 7, I get a blue screen.

When my computer reboots, I receive this message:

I uploaded the .dmp file to here. I looked for the .xml file but it wasn't in the located specified above. I'm using Win 7 Pro, 64-bit, on a dual core T5850. Just did a clean install of Win 7 a few days ago. No other issues with the machine or Win 7. Let me know if there is other information I could provide.

Are there any fixes for this or does anyone know what's causing it?

Toshiba Satellite Touchpad ps/2

Hi, never done the fourm thing, but do not know what else to try...have seachered everywhere else.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L505D-S5965 Laptop. I just did a Windows 7 update (32-bit if that matters). I had to do a full install instead of an update because it just did not do anything (after multiple tries) of running the Assistant. Well, I am up, but I cannot change my touchpad settings. I have it, and it works, but I cannot access any controls beyound the basic menus-not like the Vista controls. I would like to turn the tap of, and the scroll(never seem to use it correctly, so I just turn it off).

I have a PS/2 Compatible Mouse. It shows the manufacturer to be Microsoft. It is the 6.1.7600.16385 version. I cannot find a driver for that version anywhere on this site or Toshiba's...assuming the diriver is what I need. Please help!

External Devices and Graphics Not working

I have been having a problem ever since I installed Windows 7 Home Premium on my system. I backed up all my files from when I was using Vista Home Premium, and when it came to transferring my files to the new system I found all the video had dropouts and all the images were corrupted. I thought I lost all my files when my External HDD appeared corrupt, however when I tried to copy photos from my Digital Camera a few weeks later these pictures were also corrupt. I then plugged in my External to another computer and all the files were intact and not corrupted.

However I'm also having trouble with my screen as it is flickering all the time which I thought was a graphics driver issue, that is until I realised that the external devices were not working either.

I have tried everything I can think of when it comes to fixing my flickering PC (it crashes whenever I open games, but will flicker constantly when in general use.) I use two GPU's and have reinstalled countless times with each one installed separately, both together, with the last 6 versions of the drivers and still nothing is working, so I can only assume it's related to this.

It may also be worth noting that when trying to install my copy of Vista Home Premium (which I was using before Windows 7) on another PC I'm told that the copy is in use on another PC, but it could only be installed on my PC and I can verify it's not on there.

Can anyone help?

Why Won't My Evoluent Mouse ($75) Work on Windows 7?

1) I purchased an ASUS computer with Windows 7 installed.

2) My Evoluent optical mouse ($75) works occasionally.

3) I called Microsoft support, they couldn't figure out what was the problem.

4) I called Evoluent, they are having the same problem.

5) The mouse cannot be replaced, it is a special, ergonomic design that I have to use for health reasons.

6) The mouse worked on XP.

7) So, I purchased a Logitech TrackMan and plugged it in. Then, the Evoluent mouse started working!

8) Thinking I had the problem remedied, I unplugged the Evoluent mouse to use it on an XP system. When I brought it back to the Windows 7 computer, it would not work again.

9) From what I have been told, this is an issue of the Evoluent mouse being recognized in some kind of default.

10) I reinstalled the chipset, I did everything imaginable to correct this problem. The Logitech TrackMan works just fine on Windows 7.

**Windows 7 works very well for me in every other way. I have noticed many internet posts about USB problems and the error message saying that the USB device is not recognized. That's the problem I'm having, too.**

There's nothing wrong with the mouse or the mouse driver for the Evoluent mouse.

Please help.

I have recently installed the Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit) version on my HP Pavilion dv9013cl notebook. It came factory installed with Windows XP 32 bit. Everything seems to be working correctly with the exception of my video card driver. The driver that Windows 7 installed for my video card is version 7.15.11.7967 dated on 03/06/2009 provided by Nvidia. The problem is that I can not run the system rating without the OS locking up. I have to power down from the power switch and wait for it to recover. HP won’t help on this age of computer 3yrs old, Nvidia has nothing listed on their web site for Windows 7 drivers, other than that I really like Windows 7. Prior to my installation I did run the Windows 7 compatibility program and everything showed ok. Would you have any ideas or suggestions? I would greatly appreciate any assistance that you may be able to provide.

No reponse for Wireless Notebook Presenter 8000

I am using Windows7 Ultimate x86 with Wireless Notebook Presenter 8000. The mouse work fine in XP x64, Vista x64 and Windows7 RC x86. However, I found that the mouse has sometimes become no response, pressing left/right button no reponse, pressing mouse/presenter mode no reponse, moving mouse no repsonse...etc for about 10 seconds in my newly installed Windows7 Ultimate x86. The official website, here, says Windows7 is supported...but I am now feeling frustrated looking at the mouse pointer staying on the screen.

Here are some of the related information
1. Windows Update - Most up-to-date
2. IntelliPoint - IntelliPoint 7.0 32-bit for Windows 7, Performance mode
3. Power Option - Performance mode with USB selective suspend setting disabled
4. Battery - Newly installed

Anybody would kindly help me /w\?

Multiple Video Cards with monitors not retaining settings

Specifications:
i7 950
X58 motherboard with four pci-express slots
Three ATI 3650 Pci-Express video cards with a total of 6 DVI ports
6GB memory
500GB Hard Drive
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit (purchased, not RC)
3 Viewsonic 22" monitors and one Dell 24 inch monitor all running DVI cables.

I have three of the video cards in the computer to run multiple monitors. Windows 7 has a feature where when you plug in a monitor, it auto detects it and then enables it and sets its proper screen resolution. The problem is that when I plug in more than one monitor, I get inconsistent results.

Here are some examples:

Example 1 that happens: I have two monitors plugged in and I plug in a third monitor. It enables it within Windows 7, but the monitor does not actually turn on. If I restart the computer, somtimes it will stay enabled and boot up with all three monitors on. sometimes when I reboot it, it again shows all three enabled but only two are actually on. This happens also when I plug a fourth or fifth monitor on. Sometimes two or three monitors will be on whereas one or two others will not be on but will show enabled in display properties.

Example 2 that happens: Sometimes when I plug in a second, third, or fouth monitor, it will actually show an additional monitor as disabled. For example, if I have three monitors plugged in and it shows three monitors enabled (regardless if all three are on and working), and I plug a fourth monitor in, then it enables the fourth monitor, sometimes it turns on, sometimes it doesnt, and it also shows a "generic non-pnp monitor" as number FIVE. Even though only four displays are plugged in. I've seen this happen even if I plug in a third monitor (shows four, with 3 or number 4 disabled). If I try to enable that FOURTH "ghost" monitor, and click apply, it says "cannot save settings."

I have tried downloading the latest drivers from ATI 9-10 as well as Catalyst Control Center as well as Hydravision from ATI and also Ultramon multiple monitor software. I have tried deleting the ATI 3600 drivers WDDM 1.0 (maybe 1.1) from device manager, only to reboot and then it installed the drivers, reboot again and it brings back all of the whacky settings.

I have a couple of times got all four monitors enabled and all four monitors on where the cursor moves across them properly. EXACTLY what I want to have happen. If I restart it almost always comes back on as EXAMPLE 1 where only two of the four monitors will turn on, but it shows them enabled in display properties, or if all four monitors do come back on, they are not in the same order that I had them in and it actually shows FIVE in display properties.

To make this all even stranger, believe it or not, i've even had it boot and one of the monitors is BLACK & WHITE. What is so strange about this is that the Windows 7 logo when booting, the color Windows 7 logo, is indeed COLOR on that screen, but once it is actually in Windows 7, it is BLACK & WHITE. If I do a restart, it sometimes comes back in full color. What this means is that there is color while Windows is loading, and then once in Windows one of the monitors is BLACK & WHITE throwing out the possibility of a bad video card.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Is there KNOWN issues with ATI or Windows 7 and ATI video cards? How about Windows 7 and Viewsonic or Dell monitors? This is extremely frustrating and looking for some guidance on the subject matter. I believe that the drivers, whether Windows WDDM default or ATI's are simply not correct with Windows 7. I never had this problem with Windows XP.

Edit: I need to add that on example 1, where it shows enabled but the monitor does not come on, I have noticed that about 50% of the time when I put the Windows 7 into SLEEP mode, and take it out, the monitor(s) that were off are now on.

Windows 7 and the battery error "consider replacing your battery".

In Windows 7 RC and the previous beta, I have been receiving an error message saying "Consider replacing your battery" "There is a problem with your battery, so your computer might shut down suddenly".

I know for a fact that the battery is good. It works fine in Vista, its only about 4 months old, it lasts 2 hours +, and even in Windows 7, it will last for the same time period as it did in Vista.

People have been saying (as well as microsoft) that it is the BIOS and it needs to be updated. Well, I did obtain the latest BIOS from LG, which is dated in 2009, and that didn't change anything. I'm concluding that it is NOT the BIOS since vista reported the estimated time left of the battery just fine, even before the bios update, and I have the latest BIOS.

I ran the powercfg -energy command and it says that windows was not able to determine the capacity of the battery, yet if I go and install the LG batery application, it will tell me all the information about the battery.

I even went as far as to try my friend's battery which is less than 3 weeks old, and it still gave the same error messages.

Please Microsoft, fix this issue, and if you can't, then give the users an option to take off/disable/supress the blinking X that is on top of the power tray icon, and to remove both the "Consider replacing your battery" and "There is a problem with your battery, so your computer might shut down suddenly" messages so we don't have to see that every day, since the battery is in fact GOOD and works properly.

ok here is the deal i just got windows 7 upgrade
now when i try to use the upgrade assistant it asks me to remove my dell wireless wlan card program
is this normal?
will i be able to get my wifi back after the upgrade?
i tryed to look up the updates for the drivers but no such luck
i am just worried that i may not be able to use the wifi on my laptop if i upgrade
any info will be useful

Issues regarding Trust Graphics Pad TB-5300

Got this yesterday and it works well to a point on Windows 7, on XP it works perfectly. But, what you find on Windows 7 is if an application uses the pressure feature of the pen, the X co-ords go completely mad. Doing a full X axis sweep the pointer will shoot across the screen several times. If no software calls the pressure feature, it works fine. I've tried the pen on an XP setup and the pressure feature works perfectly. Anyone else having/had the same problems?

The drivers are the latest ones from Trust, but that makes no difference.

On a further note: I just recently freshly installed Windows 7 just to test it, but it still hasn't had any effect on the problem. (About an hour ago.)

HP Pocket Media PD1600 not recognized by Windows 7

I can't find a Win 7 (32 bit) driver for my HP Pocket Media PD1600s drive. Microsoft has a driver for the PD1200 and one for the HD1600 but not the PD1600. I spoke with HP's tech support twice and they are less than useless. Any suggestions? Should I try the PD1200 or HD1600 and cross my fingers?

Its Clearly that Microsoft has forgot the different stepping support that they had in Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008.

Just before I ran it I had tried both server 2008 64-bit (okay) and Windows 7 RC(not okay) before installing the Vista 64-bit(okay)
I think Microsoft has to fix this, Why shouldn't we be able to install Windows 7 on a system that runs 64-bit system of both Vista and 2008 without problems?

Windows 7 RC-Bluetooth

Recently, I tried setting up the bluetooth on my Gateway NV52. However, when I attempt to enable it, nothing happens accept getting the bluetooth symbol with a red x next to it. There is nothing in the control panel, system tray, or device manager that would even indicate bluetooth even exists on my laptop.

I am running the Windows 7 RC, which I've read is the cause of this problem. I've researched it a great deal and have not found a solution for Gateway laptops in particular. Yes, I have attempted to install the new drivers from gateway site, but during install and error comes up saying no bluetooth device has been found. I've never attempted to use bluetooth since installing windows 7 RC, but it used to work on vista.

Anyone have any ideas to try and fix this?

i used the win7-32 ultimate for half a month and installed intellipoint7.0，i uninstalled intellipoint7.0 with the software Driver Cleaner and wanted to install again but some problems happened. installing unsuccessfully，the pc said that the ip7.0 must be cleaned before installing but i have deleted the files where ip7.0 exist and no uninstaller can found.
Now I don’t know how to deal with!

Keys repeat uncontrollably

Since installing Windows 7 RC, keys seem to repeat uncontrollably, at random times. I'll be typing in Word 2007 or Live Messenger, and a random key will act as if I'm holding it down, and repeat until I press Escape. The computer is a Thinkpad T61p, but I'm using an external keyboard and a KVM switch. I would assume that it's the KVM, but I've tried it without and have the same result. I've also used the same keyboard with a Mac through the KVM, without any problems. Never happens there, and rarely happens in any Windows software except Word and Live Messenger (I don't think it ever happens in Outlook, for example).

Can anyone offer any suggestions? It makes editing in Word nearly impossible, as I spend half my time deleting extraneous characters. -- Ken

Can't install BC-5500S driver after installing Windows 7

I've just bought a notebook (FSC Amilo 3540) with a Sony Optiarc BC-5500S DVD/Blu-ray drive. Then I changed the operating system into Windows 7. Everything seems to work fine, except the fact that I couldn't install the driver for BC-5500S. From the vendor's website, it says that it supports Windows 7 (and also according to Sony's website).

The fact is that I can still use the DVD drive (at least) to read CD/DVD. I haven't tried to write or read blue-ray disks. But sometimes, the OS freezes and I think it was caused by the CD/DVD driver, since before it freezes, usually it tries to read the CD/DVD drive.

I am not sure about the 'freezing thing', but I just want to know why I can't install the driver for Optiarc BC-5500S. This notebook recognize the CD/DVD drive as GSA-T50N (I checked it from Device Manager). Everytime I tried to install the driver, it raised error message, like "Optiarc BC-5500S device was not found", or something like that.

IDT High definition audio driver crashes Win 7

I installed Win 7 and kept the default audio driver for several months with no problems. Yesterday I checked Windows update for optional updates and saw one for IDT High definition audio. After installing and rebooting, my system became useless with 100% processor usage and no audio at all. It took about 15 minutes for the computer to catch up with me so I could roll back the driver. This is the update info:

I rolled back to the default windows driver which is "High definition audio device" version 6.1.7000.0 and dated 12/12/08. This fixed the problem. Did anybody else have a problem like this or was it just me?

Corrected Machine Check / Cache Hierarchy Error

Every 1 minute exactly at xx:xx:00 while I'm playing LOTRO, like clockwork, I get that error, and an in-game pause while the logger starts up and logs the issue. This has to be a bug in the HAL as this is very similar to a reported issue with other multi-core CPUs in Vista. Hotfix for KB961080 is what I mean.

When I'm not playing it still happens every 5 minutes. LOTRO uses about 1.4 gigs ram on a 4 gig system.

This is an ASUSTek M2A-VM with an AMD X2 4600+
4 gigs of good Kingston RAM. This machine ran XP for 2 years with zero errors.

descargo el controlador, la ultima version que se supones funciona para xp pero cuando lo voy a instalar dice que solo funciona para NT.

pruebo el modo de compatibilidad, pero de todos modos no funciona, no se deja instalar

Sony Ericsson Mobile not connecting via Bluetooth to Windows 7

Hi

I'm having trouble connecting the new Sony Ericsson W995 Mobile Phone to a toshiba notebook running Windows 7. The error appears after finding the device and just before you enter the pins to pair the device. Now connecting to your bluetooth device - Error: "Detection of service failed"

I have tested a Nokia mobile, Bluetooth Stereo and a headset sucessfully on the notebook running windows 7 without issues.
The W995 mobile connects fine with Windows XP and is running the latest firmware.
I'm using Sony Ericsson PC Suite 5.0 and latest Toshiba Bluetooth Stack software (I have tried earlier versions of both software also).
My friend also has another model Sony Ericsson model that wont connect to her Windows 7 either but will work with her Windows XP.
The phone connects fine via USB.

Has anyone else had this problem with new sony ericsson mobiles and windows 7? Any ideas?

I have just installed W7 64bit RTM build 7600 on a Dell M1710

It automatically recognised and installed the driver for the Dell Truemobile 355 BT+EDR

Driver Provider: Microsoft

(No additional WIDCOMM software is installed)

Problems

1) It does not always find my visible SE k810i phone it just searches forever. Sometimes if I switch off/on the BT device, the next time round it finds it immediately.
    When it is found I can always pair.

    However,

2) If I right click on the BT notification icon, to display the short menu:

    a) allow a device to connect is always greyed out (even after my firewall is switched off) and the BT is restarted
    b) You select "receive a file" and the windows "Bluetooth Transfer File" appears with awaiting connection. You send the photo from the paired phone - nothing happens
         no message, no error. It just waits forever. Phone can see the PC but the connection always fails.

3) If I right click on the BT notification icon, to display the short menu:
     "Open settings" - Allow Bluetooth device to find this computer. Well, the phone can find the PC evem when it is not ticked. When it is ticked/applied an error occurs

So Ive been to the dell driver page and installed their 64bit vista driver - it now installed installed WIDCOM 6.0.1.3100 but no change

So I’ve installed it now in vista compatibility mode + admin rights

This time it updated the firmware of the device and installed WIDCOM 6.0.1.3100 again

But all problems still occur. I just can’t get it to work – well it worked once then stopped.

I have had these issues under RC and now again under RTM. I am hoping that asking for your help will not result in a tennis match between Microsoft and Dell - you say it's them, they say it's you.

Please can you help me?

Blue Screens everytime I try and update ATI drivers

When I first installed windows 7 X64 it downloaded a driver itself, but now when I try and upgrade to a newer driver (to install ccc) it blue screens once the installation begins. The screen says "Your computer has been shut down to prevent damage" or something similar to that and lists a lot of information. I have a Dell xps system that originaly came with vista X32 and I recently upgraded to 7 X64. It has an ATI Radeon HD 3870, E6850, 4GB.

Windows 7 and USB Drive Problems

I am running Windows 7, build 7600. I have a Dell Lattitude D630. I have a Cruzer USB drive and multiple other external hard drives that do not show up in My Computer. When I go to disk management, I see the drive but it has no letter assigned to it. When I try to manually assign a drive letter I get the following error:

"The operation failed to complete because Disk Management console view is not up-to-date. Refresh the view by using the refresh task. If the problem persists close the Disk Management console, then restart Disk Management or restart computer."

None of those things work. Also, if I run diskpart and list volume, I dont see the drive there either.

The only goofy thing in Device Manager is an entire tree of "Unknown" devices that all "Installed Successfully." If I uninstall each of them and reboot, they all reinstall with drivers found on the computer. Dell has no Windows 7 drivers for the chipset. You would think that if this was a driver problem, you wouldnt even see the drive in device manager.

I am stumped!
