Sunday, August 09, 2009 12:01 AMYou may have a corrupted OS file - can happen during initial download, burning the .iso file to DVD, or loading it from the DVD to the HDD. I would try repeating the download and burn a new image to try. Also, if you have a TechNet subscription, you can download the RTM, which is even better! Good hunting!

Hi CJS23
I edited your post to remove the product key information. Posting even partial product keys is not allowed on these forums.
The error code 0xC004E003 simply means that the Software Licensing Service reported that license evaluation failed.
Here is what you need to do.
1. Press the WINKEY+R to bring up the Run dialog box.
2. Type SLUI 4 in the box and press OK. This will start the Telephone Activation Wizard.
3. Select your country in the drop down menu and click the Next Button. Follow the instructions on the screen. If the telephone activation fails, stay on the line and an Activation Representative will answer and avtivate the system for you.
Hope this helps.
Thank You for testing Windows 7

Sunday, August 09, 2009 3:14 AMI too have the same problem and when I run the slui 4 command I get one that pops up and says the pre release has expired back up data and install full version. But I downloaded the file from https://www.microsoft.com/betaexperience/productkeys/win7-rc-64/enus/ and it says it is RC1 build 7100 in the saved file, but when I burned it and installed it on my pc core2 6550 4gb ram 320hdd ati radeon 4650HD card it shows as build 7000 and says its not genuine. I have tried several different keys that were given to me but no success. Any ideas would be great. I have downloaded it twice now.

Same here. Checking Command Shell VER and dxdiag.exe confirms that I have 7100 Can I get a free Tech Net Subscription? -
Sunday, August 09, 2009 2:17 PMI run the DX diag and it actually says that I have build 7000. I just don't know why it is saying that that when the saved file that has been downloaded says RC1 7100. and its not like I got a torrent or something I got it directly off microsoft.com/windows/windows7 and I clicked on the link that says try the Windows 7 RC. I have a dual booted machine with Vista. I have Win7 on the first partition which is about 100gb, and I let Windows 7 format it. I was told to do it that way from a friend that had some issues getting it to work at first. He told me to let Win7 format it and to make it the first partition on the drive. I still have not had any success. And the Tech Net Subscription is free unless you go to the Tech Net Plus Subscription which not just anybody can get.

Sunday, August 09, 2009 2:35 PMWhen I run slui 4 it says the pre-release version of windows has expired. Now I do you think that I got 7100 but for some reason it is seeing it as 7000 or what. I have downloaded it twice and both files say in the download manager grc1 7100. This is starting to get tiresome.

Fixed it!! If you go to Elevated Command Prompt and type: slmgr /rearm This will rearm windows - I was then able to change the key back to my original key from system properties and Windows Activated!! I will enjoy until July 2010 after all!!- Marked As Answer by Dale QiaoModerator Monday, August 10, 2009 1:17 AM
